Station wagons will never
be the same again after this....... What we're trying to inform the
un-informed is that the new Audi RS4 has been revamped totally. The car
(or wagon) has been given a very large shot of steroids. The most visible
differences from a normal Audi A4 Avant is the larger wheels, the flared
fenders, the huge front air intakes and not to mention the chrome door
mirrors.
The Audi has been
turbocharged before but this time round the job was taken over by Audi
Motorsport from Porsche at Weisach. The previous Audi RS2 could almost
touch 200mph with the help of a twin turbocharger fitted to a 2.8-litre V6
engine. The other noticeable differences are those large Brembo ventilated
discs (front and rear) which are hidden behind handsome Audi Avus 17"
wheels. The designers at Audi went for clean silver finish on the wheels
which really stand out. The suspension was also uprated from stock to cope
with the extra horses under the hood.
The interior is adorned
with RS4 logo's and the noticeable improvements are the seats. They really
keep you stuck around corners and never let you out of it's grip. This car
rockets to 100km/h faster than a Ferrari F40 and could also embarrass the
odd Porsche, Corvette, Maserati or any other exotic supercar. You
would also by now have noticed how incorrect the heading is to this
article. It reads Audi S4 and should have read Audi RS4...... It was a
test. You see the Germans pay attention to detail and would pick up an
error like that the minute they laid eyes on the main menu. To those of
you who only realised this now, you should also now know why you'll never
own an Audi RS4.
